In addition to bereavement services for the families we serve, we have provided some helpful grief support links below:

Healing from loss is a journey, and everyone experiences grief differently. A GriefShare support group is a safe, welcoming place where people understand the difficult emotions of grief. Through these multi-week groups, you’ll discover what to expect in the days ahead and what’s “normal” in grief. Since there are no neat, orderly stages of grief, you’ll learn helpful ways of coping with grief, in all its unpredictability—and gain solid support each step of the way from others who are dealing with similar experiences. Talking with other people who understand what you’re experiencing brings great comfort, normalizes the grief experience, and offers a supportive environment to work through your grief. Please visit https://www.griefshare.org/ to learn more or to locate a group near you.

Grief support groups provide a safe environment where one can tell his or her story and express feelings freely, knowing that others will be understanding, non-judgmental, and supportive. They are a place for establishing a connection with others to decrease the isolation that grief brings and a forum for understanding common myths about grief and typical grief patterns. We are fortunate to have local grief support groups available for an in-person support experience. The First United Methodist Church of London, Ohio, located at 52 North Main Street, London, Ohio 43140, hosts a regular grief support group. For information regarding meeting days and times, questions about the program, or any other inquiries, please contact Mrs. Beverly Hume, 614-746-3962, untanglifesknots@gmail.com. Please also feel free to visit the church's website at https://www.londonfumc.org/.

While living in a culture that disdains grief, Web Healing offers the internet’s first interactive grief website and has served the bereaved online since 1995. It offers grief discussion boards where those who are experiencing grief or feelings of loss can discuss issues related to grief and healing or browse recommended grief books.  The site’s originator, Tom Golden, LCSW, is an internationally known psychotherapist, author, and speaker on the topic of healing from loss. Additionally, Web Healing not only provides discussion boards, but also blogs, videos, online counseling, and other resources designed at targeting different types of loss so there are resources available for everyone. We encourage you to visit their website at: https://webhealing.com/.

Whether your family has had a child die (at any age, from any cause), or you are trying to help those who have gone through this life-altering experience, The Compassionate Friends exists to provide friendship, understanding, and hope to those going through the natural grieving process, and have been supporting bereaved families after the death of a child for four decades.  If you are a member (or a friend) of a family that has suffered the death of a child, The Compassionate Friends is here to help you and provide support for the family. Feel free to contact TCF’s National Office at 877-969-0010, website https://www.compassionatefriends.org/, or email nationaloffice@compassionatefriends.org if you need assistance in finding a local Chapter or you have any other questions.

When you call, we’ll be happy to provide you bereavement materials specifically chosen to apply to your situation. We’ll also be glad to provide contact information to the nearest TCF Chapter, one where the whole family can gather with others who understand because they are walking the same path.
