9/16/1939-4/22/2024
Norma Jean Huff, 84, of London, Ohio was welcomed into the eternal presence of Jesus on April 22, 2024. She was surrounded by her husband, children, and grandchildren and passed away very peacefully.
Norma was born in Reedy, West Virginia on September 16, 1939, to Oren Fay Lattimer and Virginia Marie Lattimer (Cunningham). She was the fifth of eight siblings, and she always fondly shared stories of growing up with her brothers and sisters.
Norma is preceded in death by her parents, Oren and Virginia; brothers, Jim Lattimer, Don Lattimer, and Bernie Lattimer; and sister-in-law Geneva Lattimer. Norma is survived by her loving husband, Jim Huff; children, Doug (Kylee) Huff, Sandra (Bob) Oiler, and Greg (Andee) Huff; grandchildren, Tisha, Tara, Christina, Bobby (Carmen), Haley, Haden, Darian (Brandie), Thadd, Taven, and Brylee; great-grandchildren, Ashton, Jhanessa, Shelbi, Jeyshon, Kiandra, Kendrick, Freddy, and Franky; siblings, Wanda Bainter, Eileen (Frank) Eden, David (Myrla) Lattimer, and Gary (Marci) Lattimer; sisters-in-law Jean Lattimer and Janet Lattimer; beloved friend, Kathy Samson; as well as dozens of nieces and nephews.
Norma met Jim at Circleville Bible College. They were wed on February 25, 1964. Jim always said that he knew they would get to celebrate their 60th wedding anniversary together, which they recently celebrated on February 25, 2024. Jim and Norma both loved to share stories from their early relationship and marriage, and anyone who has heard these stories has experienced the joy and laughter they incite.
In the early years of their marriage, Norma served as a stay-at-home mother to her three children. She later worked as a cashier at K-Mart, secretary at Purex, and the accountant for White Tiger Graphics, from where she retired.
Norma enjoyed Gospel music, singing hymns, gardening, and bird watching. She especially loved watching birds from her porch swing with her grandchildren. Norma was also a faithful giver, and missions were always very important to her. She and Jim always joyfully supported missionaries whenever they could. Most importantly, she spent the most time reading scripture and praying for her family. She would sincerely end every phone call with, “I pray for you every day!” Everyone who knew her was reassured that they were loved and prayed for.
Norma was a devoted member of the Church of Christ in Christian Union in Newport, Ohio.
Visitation for family and friends will be 3:00 to 6:00, Friday, May 3, 2024, at Madison County Vineyard Church, 106 Olive Street, London, Ohio 43140. The memorial service will begin at 6:00 and will be officiated by Dr. David Lattimer. A reception will follow.
In Norma’s honor, the family requests that you would prayerfully consider contributing to the CCCU Missionary Department to help support missionaries, which was a very important cause to Norma. A check can be mailed to the following address: CCCU Missionary Department, 1553 Lancaster Pike, Circleville, OH 43113.
