Biography :MINNICK Wilbur Keith Minnick, 88, Of The Plains, Ohio Passed Away At His Home Saturday, January 20, 2018. Born June 7, 1929 In Madison County; He Was A Son Of Jesse And Ruth Ann (VanSkoy) Minnick.Wilbur Retired From ODOT As A Right Of Way Negotiator, Had Done Real Estate Appraising And Had A Love Of Buying And Restoring Old Cars. At The Age Of 65 And For Over 20 Years, He Took Art Lessons From Joni Carrington Of Albany, Ohio And Created Detailed Works Of Art Through Oil Painting And Unique Repurposing Of Salvage Materials. He Was Also A Member Of The US Army As A Medic 1948-1950 And A Member Of The American Legion. Will was a charter member of our Lions Club in The Plains, Ohio and spent many years helping this community fulfill its moto "We Serve". He will be missed not only by our club mambers but also many othe residents of The Plains. We are in the process of constructing a "rain garden" at The Plains Community Park to help the environment and make better use of available ground water. It will be a model for Athens County Soil and Water Department to show others how to utalize this conservency tool. Our club has made a contribution in Will's name to The Plains Improvement Committee to help with this project and we will see that there is a plaque installed next to this garden in memory of Will. We hope this will help remind furure residents of The Plains of Will's dedication and work to aid the community throughout the years. We hope this meets with you approval and that it shows how much we respected his companionship with

Will was a friend and it has been a pleasure walking the final stage of his life. He loved to tell stories about his life, take drives just for the sake of site seeing. I will miss you my friend!
