Brother Parks was a truly genuine person. He had a way of quietly living up to his word, and his convictions. I realized as I reflected about him, how much of an influence he had on my own character in that I just never wanted to let him down, because he never let us down.

Dear Beau, Anne, Nathan, and Family, I am so sorry for your loss. I’m sure Heaven has gotten a lot more exciting over the last several days. One of the most faithful men that I have known has gone home. These past few weeks have brought back a lot of childhood memories with many of them including Bro. Parks. We basically spent 6 days a week together and got to know each other’s good and not so good sides. It seemed as though he knew what I was going to do even before I did. I swear he had eyes in the back of his head. He touched so many lives helping to make us what we are today. I also have fond memories of each of you. There are just some people who will always be close to your heart and that is where the Parks family is in mine. You are all in my thoughts and prayers. I love you all! Missy Spencer Smith

Mr. Parks was my phys ed teacher in Eaton from around 1966-1970. He was a wonderful teacher who loved his students and was firm but gentle. Amazingly, I recently had his son as my Johanning Writings teacher. I only learned of the connection when I read Mr. Parks' obituary. May Mr. Parks rest in the peace of Jesus Christ and may perpetual light shine upon him.
