BOSWELL
Raymond Wesley “Jay” Boswell, Jr., 69, of London, died Saturday, April 20, 2024, in Riverside Methodist Hospital, Columbus.
Born March 4, 1955, in Springfield, Ohio, he was a son of Raymond Wesley Boswell Sr. and Patricia Faylee (Roth) Boswell.
Following high school, Jay served in the United States Army, Airborne Division, during the Vietnam War. After his time in the service, he became a self-employed pest control expert. He later worked for Honeywell Intelligrated as a power coat painter. His free time was filled with fishing, and his favorite pastime of enjoying a golf course. Jay was also a talented softball player. An unpredictable switch hitter, he even played semi-professionally while living in California. He had a deep love of life and always could make opportunities when all else seemed lost. His grit and determination would always shine through at the end of the day, and he was always growing because of his experiences. Jay especially loved animals and kids and was always coming up with new ways to entertain his younger cousins, including learning magic tricks to share. He also enjoyed camping with his wife Kelli and enjoying the outdoors whenever possible.
Jay leaves behind his loving wife of almost 19 years Kelli (Davis) Boswell of London; sister Sandra Lee (Stanley Joseph Jr.) Stossel of Riverton, Wyoming, brother James Wesley (Victoria) Boswell of Santa Anna, California; best friend and roommate Ricky Chapman; close friend Darrell Cain; cousin Shani Maureen and her four children: Patrick (Dania) Carney, Ethan Carney, Daniel Carney, and Marina Carney; beloved corgi Bella.
He was preceded in death by his parents and favorite labrador Molly.
Jay’s family would like to extend a special thank you to Donnie and Veronica Smith for all of their care and compassion.
Public funeral services will not be observed.
The family is being served by the EBERLE-FISHER FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATORY, 103 North Main Street, where condolences are encouraged to be shared online at www.eberlefisherfuneralhome.com.
