WEETER
John “The Crashman” Weeter, died Wednesday, April 10, 2024, in Kettering Health, Dayton.
Born August 30, 1941, in Bainbridge, Ohio, he was a son of Bill Weeter and Mary Kathryn (Dobbins) Weeter.
John drove a truck professionally for several decades. Being an owner/operator, he was proud to say he drove better than a million miles in his truck without any accidents. He became an experienced traveler from driving, and managed to venture to all 48 contiguous states. When he got out of the truck, John loved riding his Harleys and hot rods. John was as ornery as they come and had no problem making people laugh with his jokes and one-liners. He also was a skilled mechanic, being able to fix almost any car or motorcycle, including rebuilding motorcycles brought to him in a basket. His humor, rowdiness, and passion for life were truly infectious, and will be dearly missed by all who knew him.
He is survived by four children: Robert Weeter, Teresa (Bruce) Campbell, Dwayne (Jeanette) Weeter, and Mary Beth (Bill) Hurley; grandchildren Jon Weeter, Kevin Weeter, Katie Weeter, Clara Hurley, and Grace Hurley; great-grandchildren Mason Wells and Allyson Wells.
John was preceded in death by his parents; mothers of his children Vicki (Cunningham) Neal and Paula (Brohard) Weeter; sister Jane Adams; daughter-in-law Jane (Brohard) Weeter, son-in-law Mike Campbell.
Neither visitation nor funeral services will be held in accordance with John’s wishes.
The family is being served by the EBERLE-FISHER FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATORY, 103 North Main Street, London, Ohio 43140, where condolences are encouraged to be shared online at www.eberlefisherfuneralhome.com.
